1. Casa VO, Puerto Escondido
Easily one of my TOP 5 favorite places I ever stayed at and my very favorite unique place to stay in Mexico.
The layout of this unique place to stay is simply incredible and so different to anything else I have seen. The idea behind Casa VO is to transform the concept of a traditional house with a garden to a “garden with a house” instead.
It´s an architectural masterpiece and I absolutely fell in love with the concept of the open spaces without doors.
The pool is stunning and the house is very well equipped with everything you need during your stay.

2. Hotel Pasión de Luna, Puerto Àngel
This hotel is an very unique place to stay in Mexico and also a great hidden gem.
When I arrived to this hotel, I was literally speechless. There is so much happening everywhere, sooo much attention to detail everywhere you look. Small shells, stones, sand used for all sorts of decorations on the wall, lamps etc.
They offer 11 rooms (at least at the time when I stayed, but they are expanding) and 4 different pools, each one very unique and stunning.
I stayed in a room with private jacuzzi on the balcony and the most amazing outdoor bed in shell form (as in one of the pictures below).
This unique place to stay in Mexico is located in a less popular area (compared to the more touristy neighbouring towns like Mazunte and Zipolite). When I stayed there, I did not see any other guests and had the whole place to myself.
If you are in the area, I HIGHLY recommend booking this place, it will literally blow your mind – check the pictures below! It´s insane!

My favorite feature is the swimming pond, other than the usual swimming pool, the pond comes with fish and plants and is a real treat after a day of exploring the city. The views from the roof top, especially during sunrise and sunset, will blow your mind. The giant hammock alone is already worth staying here!
